Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the predisposition to depression as a basis for the School of Nursing in Ateneo de Davao University. The respondents of this study was all of the regular nursing students enrolled in the first semester in Ateneo de Davao University, S. Y. 2015 - 2016.A self-made demographic data and questionnaire sheet were validated by an expert of Ateneo de Davao University Nursing Faculty. The researchers used the frequency and percentage distribution in analyzing the data.Based on the demographic data, there were 103 respondents, most of them are aged 16 - 20 which comprises 92.23%, female which comprises 73.78% Davaoeos which comprises 46.60%, Roman Catholics which comprises 71.84%, and have an income of more than Php 60,000 which comprises 51.46%.In the study, it was shown that intrapersonal stressor predisposes to depression with 91.26% of the respondents answered that their routine tasks are affected when they are upset.
