    Objectives: The study aims to find out the importance of the work-related factors and their relationship with selected personal-occupational variables of the facultty of nursing. It answers: (1) What are the work-related factors identified by the faculty in the three colleges of nursing? (2) What are the values attributed by the faculty to these work-erlated factors? (3) Is there any significant relationship between the values of these work-related factors and each of the following personal-occupational variables namely: age, civil status, educational attainment, tenure of employment?

    Time and event-related factors and the sterility of solvents

    Objectives: The study seeks to find out if time and event-related factors affect the maintenance of the sterility of solvents. It will answer these questions: (1) What are the sterility levels of the solvents in the uncovered polyampules, covered polyampules and vials without regard to period of exposure? (2) What are the sterility levels of the solvents in the uncovered polyampules, covered polyampules, and vials with regard to their exposure to one-six hours? (3) Are there significant differences onthe sterility levels of the solvents in the uncovered polyampules, covered polyampules, and vials? (4) Is there a significant difference between the sterility levels of the solvents in the uncovered polyampules, covered polyampules, and vials when exposed to one-six hour of storage? (5) Is there a significant interaction between the covering or uncovering of thepolyampules, the use of vials and the time of storage? (6) What are the microorganisms responsible for the contamination of the sample-solvents?

    A Practical guide of selected nursing procedures in surgery ward of Davao Medical Center

    This book introduces the frundamental skills used by health professional: taking the vital signs, assessing health, promoting safety, maintaining asepsis and the physiologic needs of the patient. Step by step skills are repsented through nursing process which are incorporated broadly throughout this book. The ASSESSMENT that begins with the nurse's first encounter with the patient involves the systematic collection of data about the patients nursing needs; PLANNING which is setting goals, assigning priorities and indentifying nursing intervention; IMPLEMENTATION is putting into action the nursing intervention identified; and EVALUATION is noting the results of the interventions being made. Actions are made, followed with scientific rationales in each nursing procedures. As such, theses are higlighted to present an organized approach. The content of this book is organized by defining the main topic. Then each topic is followed by an explanation of what, when, where, how it is being used and the expected outcome of each procedures. A note in CAPITAL LETTERS are emphasized at the end of every nursing procedure to draw attention of nurses and other allied health professional critical to actions within skills. Some figures were also carefully presented to help readers see as they work through the procedures independently. Because of the depth and wide range of nursing knowledge that a nurse must absorb, they can be easily overwhelmed. In this view, the author decides to create this book with the following objectives: a). To make nursing procedures as a practical guide for better absorption and understanding. b). To provide an effective and safe delivery of health care. c). To help nurses and other allied health professionals in enhancing their clinical judgement and nursing practice. d). To make health professionals more competent in the performance of nursing skills.
