dc.description.abstract This study was limited to the level of knowledge and self-efficacy of modern contraceptive use in Barangay 21-C Piapi Boulevard, Davao City. The respondents of the study will be women ages 18 to 40 years old, either married or single, regardless of their religion and educational attainment. The researchers conducted this study to know the relationship between the level of knowledge and self-efficacy in modern contraceptive use in Barangay 21-C Piapi Boulevard, Davao City. The researchers used descriptive, comparative, and correlational method. Their study used the Cognitive Evaluation Theory proposed by Deci & Ryan (1985) and Human Becoming Theory proposed by Rosemary Parse (1998). These two theories are highly applicable in this research study as it is concerned with decision making of the respondents as with weighing what are the possible outcomes of such decision and how they value their beliefs. Self-made questionnaires were used as a form to gather all the necessary information's regarding the residents' level of knowledge and self-efficacy of modern contraceptive use. The researchers used purposive sampling technique because the respondents involved women ages 18 to 40 either married or single and the estimated given population size was 207. Slovin's formula was used to determine the sample size which was 136. The respondents were selected through simple random technique. In order to quantify the data obtained, the researchers perused the Frequency Distribution, Mean, ANOVA, and Pearson R. After the conduction of the research study, computation and analysis about the level of knowledge and self-efficacy of respondents on contraceptive use, the result of the data showed that the higher the level of knowledge, the higher the self-efficacy. With these result, the researchers can conclude that the respondents were highly knowledgeable and had adequate capabilities to organize and execute courses of action regarding modern contraceptive use.
