dc.description.abstract One issue that has been bothering the Philippine society is the differing opinions in the use of contraception. Church personalities have been campaigning against some methods while the other groups promote the use of the methods. In the face of this conflict, the students were somewhat placed in a confused position. Being in the stage when curiosity towards sex is at its peak, teenagers became so prone to a lot of problems. Yet, the proponents have seen the significance of studying the profeciency on contraception of this particular group and correlate it to their individual perception. Knowledge is a precursor of perception and usually insuffecient prpfeciency tend to lead to negative point of view towards anything, in this case is contraception. Out of 220 respondents, ninety-one percent of them were generally fairly profecient or profecient on contraception while sixty-seven percent percent have a positive perception regarding the process. Males and females, generally, registered a similar level of profeciency and profile of perception. Thus, gender does not necessarily affect their profeciency and perception on contraception. Moreover, correlating their profeciency level and perception profile yielded a correlation coeffecient of 0.85 which signifies a positive relationship. Hence, highly profecient persons tend to have better point of view towards peceptions while less profecient individuals tend to have poorer reception of the contraceptive methods. Consequently, appropriate information dissemination programs should be implemented to improve their awareness and then, their own opinion towards process.
