Abstract
This study aimed to determine the significant relationship between drinking tuba with the blood pressure among the residents of Central A1 Binugao, Toril, Davao City. The researchers wanted to find the answer on the following questions: What are the demographic profiles of the respondents? What is the level of blood pressure of the respondents before drinking tuba? What is the lvel of blood pressure of the respondents 20 minutes after drinking tuba? Is there a significant difference between the blood pressure of the respondents before drinking tuba and 20 minutes after drinking tuba when analyzed by age, gender and weight? And lastly, is there a significant difference between the level of the blood pressure of the respondents before and after drinking tuba?. This study will benefit generally the community of Central 1A Binugao, Toril, which includes the community leaders and the residents; it is as well an advantage to the researchers and student nurses for proficiency and will be beneficial for future research. This study made use of an experimental method wherein the researchers designed an experimental questionnaire that is utilized in observing, collecting the needed data. The researchers selected 16 correspondents and blood pressure was taken before drinking tuba and 20 minutes after drinking a 12 oz. of tuba. Out of 16 respondents, 12 were male and the rest were female. 13 respondents were in between 21-36 old and 3 respondents between 37-53 years old. The last indicator included in the study was the weight of the respondents where there were 8 respondents in between 40-52 kilograms and also, 8 respondents in between 53-64 kilograms. The result of the study concluded that drinking "tuba" can influence the increase in the blood pressure of a person and that person aged 21-36 years old is the indicator that has the distinguished increase in blood pressure.
