Baseline health profile of Purok X, Barangay Inawayan, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the Baseline health pro?le of Purok Fatima, Barangay Inawayan, Sta. Cruz. Davao del Sur. The researchers used descriptive method of research design and it was conducted in Purok Fatima, Barangay lnawayan, Sta. Cruz. The study used Community-as-Partner Model proposed by Betty Neuman. Her theory suggests that community health care setting is the best avenue in promoting health and preventing illnesses. Using this model community program may be focused on activities that can improve the well-being of the people. Health promotion and disease prevention can be carried out easier in the community, as compared to programs that aim to cure disease conditions. The respondents of the study include 90 respondents, 51 are females and 39 are males. The standardized questionnaire was used as a form to collect data. In order to quantify the data obtained, the researchers used the frequency and percentage distribution. After the conduction of the research study, interpretation and analysis was done. Based on the date collected, most of the respondents belong to the young to middle adulthood age which ranges from 22-32 years old. In terms of gender, the majority of the respondents were females. When it comes to educational attainment most of the respondents reached high school level. With the results, the researchers recommended that it is very much essential for individuals to pay close attention to their health. Self-awareness is the key since this highly determines the health of an individual most especially those who are suffering from illness. Researchers recommend the community to understand the importance of medical visits.
