Abstract
This study was conducted by James Aguipo, Aissa Krystel Ancheta, Alex Christopher Aponesto, Girley Lenares, and Kendra Dianne Torres, to dteremine the "Professional Nurses' understanding and performance in their role as patient advocate" among 30 professional nurses and 30 patients at Davao Medical Center. This research employed non-experimental descriptive method. This method is concerned with gaining a better understanding of the complex behavioral pattern and phenomenon by studying the relationship between the variables that are hypothesized to be related. In this research study, we have formulated few statements of the problems. We have also formulated a structured questionnaire that shows the extent of the relationship between the performance and understanding of nurses. To test the this null hypothesis that "There is no significant relationship between their level of performance and level of understanding of professional nurses", we use the Pearson (r) to test for independence. After gathering all the information from the questionnaire, results show that their is a significant relationship between the level of performance and level of understanding of professional nurses.
