Abstract
This is a correlational analysis eight hour lectures and the academic performance of second year nursing students. The proponents are April Anne R. Chi, Khristin Ann C. Delfin, Anna L. Denoga, Camille Marie P. Derla, Lourraine Ann A. Lllanos. A total of 245 students were utilized in this study. A survey questionnaire and a copy of their final grades were used. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was utilized to interpret the results. Results showed a mean of 3.48 which means that the respondents had a fair perception on the effectiveness of the 8-hour lecture. The standard deviation (SD = .38) suggests homogeneity of the responses and consistency of their level of perception. A mean grade of 83.79 suggests that the students are performing average in Health Care I. The proponents recommend that the administrators have further teaching evaluations, the teachers to explore the teaching methods and the future researchers to explore other factors affecting the academic performance of the students.
