Abstract
ABSTRACT : This quantitative study etermined the health related quality of life among preschool children of Ateneo de Davao University using the kiddy KINDL instrument developed by Dr.Monika Bullinger and Prof.Ravens Siberer. Results showed the assessment of both the children and their parents/parent-proxies on six dimensions namely: physical well-being, psychological well-being, self-esteem, family, friends, and everyday functioning. The recall period of the questinnaire was the past week. Findings show the pupil assessment in all the aspects were rated high expect for emotional well-being. Parents, on the other hand, had assessments similar to those of their children except for self-esteem. When the individual assessment between the parent and the children, the study showed that the tool can detect factors that are both present between parents and children. Both of them rated physical and emotional well-being as lowest among the aspects presented. Data can be used to propose a health program for preschool children of Ateneo de Davao University.
