Abstract
The objective of this study is to produce an impartial, consistent and independent study on the effectiveness of the Diabetes Conversational Map program to the Diabetes self-care management of diabetic patients in Davao City. This study is a two-group before and after experimental, descriptive, correlation and comparative designs. The study coursed for three months following the Conversational Map implementation. The intervention group will be compared and distinguish against the pre- and post-intervention results and of the comparative group. A total of 60 participants were accounted for to conclusion this study. Statistical treatments used in this study include Frequency, Percentage and Mean of the dependent variables. The T-test for Dependent Samples was and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and T-test for Independent Samples was used to test the significant difference and the change of biological measurements and the change in Diabetes knowledge assessment (DKN) when grouped according to socio-demographic profile and lifestyle. Pre and post test scores of both groups showed minute improvement, however, scores did not reached passing mark based on the adapted DKN Assessment. Systolic blood pressure and change in DKN when grouped according to age, Cholesterol athwart educational attainment and Diabetes Knowledge across economic attainment were significant. The findings of the study are aimed for curriculum and program development guideline for healthcare providers (HCPs) and bases for a proposed Diabetes clinical pathway or action plan.
