dc.description.abstract | This study is entitled Emotional Intelligence and Related Learning Performance Experience of Level Four Student Nurses of Ateneo de Davao University. The general objective of this study was to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and RLE performance of the level four student nurses. This study used the Emotional Intelligence Theory of Daniel Goleman as its core foundation. The specific objectives were to determine the level of emotional intelligence of Level 4 student nurses according to the domains of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills; to determine the level of RLE performance; and to determine the relationship of the level of emotional intelligence according to the 5 domains and RLE performance. The researchers used a standardized Emotional Intelligence test developed by Dr. Nicholas Hall in determining the level of emotional intelligence. They determined the RLE performance by retrieving the Nursing Care and Management 103 grades of the respondents. They utilized the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient formula with a 0.05 level of significance to determine the relationship between the five domains of Emotional Intelligence and RLE Performance. The important results of the study may be summarized as follows: Among the selected Level 4 student nurses, they need some development on the five domains of emotional intelligence. Majority of the respondents fall on below average level of RLE. Lastly, only self-regulation and motivation turned out to have a significant relationship with the Related Learning Experience performance of the respondents. | |
