dc.description.abstract The objective of this study was to know reproductive health perspective and practices of Indigenous people (IP) in Mountain Province (MP). Qualitative research design specifically descriptive exploratory-analytical approach was used in the study while, the criterion sampling using the appropriate inclusion criteria was used to identify the key informant. Field work approach utilizing focus group discussions and key informant interview to understand the indigenous people’s perspective and practices on reproductive health was the data collection method of the study. Results showed that there are varying perspectives as to the emergence of the perspectives of the peoples of MP which are positive viewpoints and negative viewpoints that focused on the concept of caring and family planning for the positive viewpoint and birth control for the negative viewpoint. This was also extended on the RH concept of transculturalism which centers on the fusion of indigenous and medical RH practice along maternal care and child care. Furthermore, emergence of Indigenous RH Legislation that would aid in the development and implementation of multi-level ordinances and programs to support the implementation of DOH programs. The local government units and other non- government units support the implementation of policies and programs on RH. Nurses should consider the uniqueness and respect the perspectives and practices of every individual or community in rendering care in relation to reproductive health. Indigenous perspectives and practices on RH need to be integrated in the nursing curriculum to address the diverse needs of the students. Nursing education is taken to western European values.
