The term negative discrepancy indicates that stress exists when the individual's perceived state falls short of his or her desired state. In the field of experience stress, especially as they adjust to college life at highly competitive institution. Thus causes the researchers to conduct the study. The researchers created a title which was checked and submitted to the college of Nursing. The title "The effects of stressors encountered by the 4th year nursing students of Ateneo de Davao University, school year 2006-2007 towards their academic performance". The researchers formulated a title in which it focuses on the field of nursing. Different ideas and suggestions were contributed and shared. In which the researchers considered the resources, time frame and accessibility of the data and respondents. This study used a descriptive factual method in which data were collected and, defined and described. This type of design usually utilizers questionnaire for obtaining survey data as a means of identifying the effectiveness of stressors experienced among the fourth year nursing students. The subject of this study only included the 7 section also their academic performance was based on the actual grade among the fourth year nursing students. It identified the significance of the relationship between the effects of the stressors and academic performance. The researchers formulated or designed a questionnaire to evaluate the respondents' stress condition. Frequency, counts, mean, percents, and pearson- r used in analyzing the data collected. The retrieval of the instrument, tallying, analysis and interpretation of data will help the researchers find out if there is a significance between the stressors experienced by the 4th year student nurses of Ateneo de Davao University and towards their academic performances.
